PRESS RELEASE: INOVA COLLECTION – positive mood and a warm response from all participants

Frankfurt am Main, September 2020. As the first jewellery fair to take place since lockdown, INOVA COLLECTION has drawn to a close after three highly successful days. “We’re absolutely delighted that both visitors and exhibitors embraced our health & hygiene concept and took all the necessary measures so seriously. After all, the only real way to ensure that an event of this kind runs smoothly and is staged responsibly is if we all pull together,” commented Jens Frey, Managing Director of exhibition organiser MUVEO GmbH.

“Even though this year’s fair was more functional in nature, we tried to include in the concept as much ‘INOVA’ as possible. And I really think we succeeded – thanks not least to our atmospheric catering area and the free range of services provided. We were pleasantly surprised by how smoothly the fair went and we feel that many of the decisions we made about staging the event in such unusual circumstances were well informed and correct,” added Martin Weskamp, co-organiser of INOVA COLLECTION and exhibition partner. The measures implemented at the event included, among others, a visitor guidance system in the halls and a new foyer in the outdoor area which helped to ensure that social distancing could be observed and queues avoided as best as possible.

Besides a fully booked exhibition area, INOVA COLLECTION once again offered independent retailers and buyers a high-quality brand and product portfolio, providing a good insight into the latest trends and collections on the market. “You can tell that customers are looking for new ideas and they’re definitely finding them at INOVA. As far as visitors are concerned, the orders flowed surprisingly well. Besides our regular customers, we also welcomed several new ones to our stand,” stated a delighted Andreas Filius, Managing Director of FILIUS ZEITDESIGN, commenting on his successful appearance at the fair.

Quality and internationality were aspects that were positively highlighted in relation to the visitors: “We were really happy to welcome not only German customers but also plenty of international retailers to our stand. The footfall was excellent. We would’ve liked to have the Friday as well to provide our customers with an even better service. We’re already looking forward to INOVA 2021, where we’ll no doubt have a larger stand and a bigger team of sales staff,” commented Frank Heringer, Managing Director of the DiamondGroup with respect to the fourth edition of the fair.

The GOLDEN NOVA AWARDS 2020

Even though INOVA COLLECTION had to forego its comprehensive supporting programme this year, it was still able to present the GOLDEN NOVA AWARDS for the second time on the Saturday in cooperation with jewellery magazine Schmuck Magazin. Under the banner of “The Golden 20s – Inspired by the zeitgeist of the 1920s”, up-and-coming designers, students, apprentices, and graduates entered the competition for young talent by submitting their creative pieces of jewellery. A high-calibre jury of experts selected the three best-placed creations from a total of 9 nominees in advance of the fair.

The Award in Gold was presented to Jonathan Holz for his “Antike” bracelet, featuring a sophisticated combination lock. The GOLDEN NOVA in Silver went to Lilly Klatte for her earrings whereas Bronze was awarded to Maren Schulz for her “Golden Geometry” necklace. In addition, the trade visitors were given the chance to vote for the GOLDEN NOVA Audience Prize during the fair. The winner will be announced in the near future and will be given the opportunity to exhibit at the Philipp Becker Area next year together with selected goldsmiths and jewellery designers.

At the second awards ceremony, the three winners were presented with attractive prizes: They included a precious metal weight account worth € 1,500 with an exclusive blog contribution by influencer Ena Christ, as well as shopping vouchers for Rudolf Flume Technik and Emil Weis Opals worth € 800 and € 600 respectively.
